British Man Who Killed Nigerian Boy Escapes

A convicted killer jailed for stabbing a teenage boy to death is being hunted by police after escaping from a mental health centre. Lerone Boye fleed from John Howard Centre in Homerton, London, at about 2 pm on Wednesday.

East London NHS Foundation Trust said it had started an immediate internal investigation on the circumstances of the escape.

Police are advising people not to approach the 27-year-old but to call 999 if they see him.

Boye was sentenced to 28 years in jail last year for the murder of 17-year-old Kelvin Chibueze at a birthday party in Ilford on August 15 2011.
